Bad service

I had to call about my blood work. They didn't call me with the results. My medication changed. They sent the prescription to the wrong pharmacy. They want me to call that pharmacy. I did NOT make the mistake!! They need to fix it!!

Getting tired of looking for competent care

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Referred to psychiatric NP by my PCP for medication management. After my intake appointment, my follow-up appointment was canceled, couldn't get in for months.

I was at a 23/24 for depression and 19/21 for anxiety, PCP wouldn't prescribe me anything at my next appointment and wanted me to wait for the psychiatric specialist, which took another 2 months after that to be seen again. Letting someone at that level just dangle in the wind for 2 months seems a little cruel to begin with, but then I get prescribed something by the psychiatric NP that seems strongly contraindicated with my hypertension. In the visit summary, among other things, it says all the potential side effects and alternatives to that medication were discussed, which absolutely never happened. It also says that she discussed diet and nutrition with me and encouraged me to exercise, which also never happened but I've noticed has been put in a couple visit summaries from the past year because I've gained weight and they don't actually bother asking about my appetite or diet or exercise habits anymore at this point and just assume that I overeat and never exercise and keep either making verbal comments about it to me or make comments about it in my visit notes.

At the point I had the appointment with her, I'd lost my appetite for 1-2 months and was hardly eating anything anymore and was going to the gym multiple times every week, but they wouldn't know that since they never actually ask. The assumptions about my weight I'm getting used to at this point, but it's unacceptable for doctors to be fabricating things in my chart, and they also need to be careful with the medications they are prescribing. If a patient is currently being treated for hypertension and cardiac issues, don't give them a medication that has raising blood pressure as one of the most common side effects. Had that or some of the other common side effects ever been mentioned, there's 0 chance I would have started taking it.

There were 6 items in the "plan" listed in my visit summary, and 4 of them were completely fabricated in the notes and were never actually discussed during the appointment.

Completely unacceptable. So many of the doctors are just trying to get you in and out as quickly as possible, don't listen to you or look at bigger picture issues, and are just checking off the boxes they need to check for their records.

Pros:
  • You will get an appointment at some point
Cons:
  • Falsifying notes in medical records
  • Fatphobic
  • Takes too long to get an appointment

User's recommendation: Record the visits if you do go, go somewhere else if you're fat and want to receive the same level of care you would if you weren't

Repeated refusal by El Rio to allow patient visit with primary care physician

Tried to make appt with Primary Care Physician in Jan at clinic on Cherrybell. Was told there was a waiting list.

Got put on list. Never was contacted. Tried to make appt with same in Mar on phone. Was on hold for 30 min before answer by Erica.

She was uncooperative from the beginning. She refused to make appt because I am old, always in pain and have diabetes. Tried to run some Medicare Exploitation Scam instead. I asked to speak with supervisor.

She said they would call me back. Then after 50 minutes, she hung up on me. Supervisor never called. Supervisor was never contacted.

Will contact United Healthcare about finding a clinic that puts patients health care above Medicare Exploitation. El Rio is abominable.

Tried to call for an appointment

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Tried to call to schedule an appointment. They converted from Banner Health to El Rio and everything went down the toilet. People in lab coats who don't know what they're doing and who couldn't care less about what's going on with you. If you have something like a cold, they got you but if it's something serious you're out of luck

How are you supposed to contact these people? The phones don't work. The patient portal is a total joke. You cannot book an appointment - I am going to have to go somewhere else for medical care.

Their referrals are horrible. The endochronology group took days to call me back, and when they did, they said they would have to get a "new patient" person to call me back in 2 WEEKS!

I needed to get an osteoperosis exam and infusion. Ended up finding and endocronoglist on my own. It has been 3 months and my El Rio records have not been updated. I have written inquiries about my records to no avail.

When I made an appointment I went over the fees for the services I was told I would need. I called back the day before the appoint ment to confirm the time and location and was given a total different treatment at a much higher cost over what I had been told before.

Worst Service Ever

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I have never been treated so poorly by a Physician's Office before. I established with a nurse practitioner and was told afterwards I would be able to see an actual MD. Every time I tried to make an appointment for said MD, I was told she was too booked. So I made an appointment with a different nurse practitioner since the initial one is on maternity leave. All I asked for was a new prescription for ambien, which I have been on for years and only take 2-3 times a week. I was treated like a drug addict, forced to take a drug screen, and lied to and told it was state law that prevented her from giving me a prescription for more than a 30 day supply and then found out there was another test run without my permission that I was charged for. I was also told I could just call in to get a new 30 day supply prescription and when I called in today the office told me I had to be seen again and had to see a DIFFERENT MD since I was not established with an actual MD in the office. So, I have been lied to from many different people in the office, and when I called back to try to speak to an office manager I sat on hold for 30 minutes and no one answered.

I have a hypo thyroid and have to take a pill every day. Normally the prescription should be at my pharmacy on time. I already went 3 times to my pharmacy within more than 10 days and my prescription has not arrived. They contact my doctor every day - nothing happens. Today I tried to call my doctors office. I took me 20 minutes to get through and then they told me, they would refer it to my doctor. I kind of feel that they are making fun of me, saying that my health matters!!! and while waiting on the phone they tell you how to avoid stress! I would be less stressed if your company would do your work.

El Rio Community Health Center Appointment Review from Tucson, Arizona

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I don't understand why they wont see my son. It seemed as though when they said i had to start making my own appointments i became an inconvience. They wont give me an appointment because they said to many people set up an appointment and dont show up or call to cancel but how is that my fault? My son needs his shots what if something happens to my baby and it was all cause they didnt want to set up an appointment? I tried to set up an appointment one day and they were rude they first said they wont have anything at the end of the week then they said oh i mean end of the month i said thats fine but then she changed her mind again and said the end of next month then she said she wont be making an appointment after all cause the doctors had to many people schedule and not show up...they hang up when you show that you are displease they dont help with making the situation better. I am switching sure it may not be anything to them because i am one person but i rather go anywhere else than to be treated the way they treat me and my son.

What a joke company! They prescreen you as a drug seeking patient BEFORE you ever see the doctor! What a joke, I have never had a doctor pre-determine my condition BEFORE they ever see you! I went this place because it was close to my home and my regular doctor was out on vacation. i needed refills on my meds because my PCP was out for a month. Before I ever got into the office a doctor if thats what you want to call him from India ran my name in the system, saw I have been taking my meds every month for 3 years, with no problem mind you and the minute I told him I was there to get refills due to my DR. being on vacation he stated I needed to see a Psych Dr. that helps homeless people before he would fill vicodin and xanax from a major lawsuit car acident injury I was in! Number one I am not homeless, 2 I am clean cut with a job, 4 I never called in a medication in early and I still had meds in the bottles I brought in that were 2 weeks past due! You can't understand a word they say with the broken language he and them speek and you walk out of the office being charged for nothing ecept a referal to a shrink for back and sezure problems. I have gone to two differant locations and its the same in the whole town. The office is dirty. The Dr was dirty and smelled like BO. They treat you like your a addict before you ever speak your problem. The parking lot is ripped up. Also they make sure they get their insurance money before they send you a bill for a visit that did nothing. They need to hire some real doctors and mabye just one that speaks english since this is America! DONT BE FOOLED AND GO TO ANY EL RIO CENTER!
